Qwire presents 'The Sound of Us'

Following the joy-filled celebrations of their 30th anniversary, Canberra Qwire, proudly LGBTQIA+, is thrilled to invite you and your loved ones to an afternoon of uplifting choral music that celebrates the richness of our identities and the stories that shape our vibrant community.

Join Qwire for "The Sound of Us: A Celebration of Community in Song!" at Llewellyn Hall on 24 November at 3:00pm.

This concert will be a powerful and joyous expression of who we are, brought to life through the voices of Canberra Qwire and the resonant harmonies of three extraordinary choirs from our OUT and About project: Good Vibes (Yass), Voice Works (Goulburn), and Vocal Local (Goulburn). This is a unique opportunity to experience community choral singing at its finest, brimming with musicianship, regional pride, and a deep sense of belonging.

Lachlan Snow, Canberra Qwire's Musical Director, shared his excitement about this event:

"The Sound of Us is all about the power of song to create community. This will be my last engagement with Qwire, which will be true to the foundations of why I stepped into the role. In my covering letter when applying for the job back in 2021, I referenced the joy of community music making, especially for LGBTQIA+ people."

“In the same letter I also referenced the need to build bridges beyond and it’s been a joy to do exactly that with our OUT and About project musical partners, including community members who will be singing with us for the time - welcome.”
