Trans people play crucial roles in our community, and all too often are denied the support, healthcare, and appreciation we deserve. We aren't just a talking point for politicians - we're people, who have rights, roles, and representation: and we demand to have our voices heard!
There is never a right to discriminate against us, in parliament or on the streets! There is never a reason to use the gendered violence of detention against us! There is no pride on this stolen land, and we stand united with First Nations peoples across the continent! Stand with us on March 31, Trans Day of Visibility, at Civic Square at 5:30pm. We'll be standing up and making our voices heard at the heart of Ngunnawal & Ngambri country, with speakers from a range of backgrounds agitating for our demands:
- We demand a right to transition and access to gender affirming care!
- No right to discriminate; sex work in the anti discrimination act and no religious exemptions!
- No pride in detention! Free trans people from detention now!
- Disarm cops and no cops at LGBTQI events!
This event is for everyone - cis and trans, young and old, local and interstate: we will all stand united with our trans community. We encourage everyone to create and bring materials for the rally - placards, banners, and your fave pride flags. This is our opportunity to drown the airwaves with our demands, and we can only do it together!
