Canberra Seahorse Playgroup

Seahorse Playgroup is a social gathering for LGBTQIA+SB parents, carers and their children in Canberra (Ngunnawal and Ngambri land.) Our aim is to create a community space where Queer families are celebrated and normalised.

Get-togethers start with a baby Acknowledgement of Country, then a parent/carer check in where we talk about the ‘highs and lows’ of the week. Sessions also have a featured planned activity or outing run by our facilitator.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

• Free to attend
• Held at various locations depending on the activity/outing.
• Organisers can provide accessibility information.
• Direct/breast/chest/bottle feeding or pumping welcome.
• Siblings, extended family or supports welcome.

DATES & TIMES

• 2nd Monday of the month, 9am – 11am
• 4th Saturday of the month, 3pm – 5pm

What happens once you register?

You’ll receive:

• A welcome email with more information.
• The schedule of activities for the Term.
• A welcome text so you have the facilitators mobile.
• A link to join one or both WhatsApp groups so you can keep up with updates/introduce yourself to the group.
