The Simpsons boss open to queer Lisa

Al Jean, showrunner of the much beloved long-running animated sitcom The Simpsons, has stated that Lisa being queer is certainly a “possibility”. Fan speculation reached a frenzy after flash-forwards in season 23 episode ‘Holidays of Future Passed’ briefly depicted an adult Lisa holding hands with two women. Later, in season 29 episode ‘Mr Lisa’s Opus’, a future Lisa is depicted attending Harvard University and ends up holding hands with a girl that she hints may be “more than a friend”. Jean commented publicly stating, “She is open and, you know, somebody who loves everything.  Why not?”...

Virgin Atlantic scraps gendered uniforms

In a move sure to stir up the industry standard, airline Virgin Atlantic has scrapped rules on gendered staff uniforms to encourage staff to freely express their identity. The Richard Branson owned company will also offer the option of gender pronoun badges for staff and passengers, and changed its online booking system to offer a gender-neutral title for customers.

NSW sniffer dogs to stay

According to NSW law, police can use sniffer dogs to search a person in activities related to “general drug detection,” and do not require prior suspicion of a drug offence. Under the Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act 2002, they are also protected against any liability that may arise from using a dog in and around a premise. In a long-awaited response to the 2020 ice inquiry, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has re-affirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy to drug use and police sniffer dogs.
