Queen Elizabeth a queer ally according Mayor

Carl Austin-Behan, Manchester’s first out gay Lord Mayor (and Mr Gay UK 2001), has stated that the late great monarch “cared about our LGBTIQ+ community”. Austin-Behan served as Lord Mayor of Manchester from 2016 to 2017 and is currently the LGBT advisor to the Lord Mayor of Greater Manchester. He had the opportunity to meet the Queen in July 2021 when she visited Manchester Cathedral for the 600th anniversary of the Collegiate Church.

Queensland push to protect schools from discrimination

The Queensland Human Rights Commission has proposed an overhaul of the state’s outdated anti-discrimination laws to protect, in particular, LGBTIQ+ staff and students at religious schools.
