He Man’s Love at First Bite in a Box
Finding a fab gift for a man can sometimes be tricky. Too often, the options can be pretty basic and somewhat dull. So when He Man Shop’s Foodie Gift Hamper landed at FUSE, I was excited. As a busy guy, I’m always on the lookout for thoughtful gifts I can send to family and friends from the comfort of my couch, or delicious treats I can have delivered to my door for our next date night or when friends drop by.
He Man Shop is an independent Australian business creating hand-curated gift hampers for men, by men. The Foodie Gift Hamper is priced at $180 and brings together a seriously appealing selection of gourmet goodies, including Bruny Island cheese, crackers, Island Harvest quince paste, craft beer, premium snacks and pantry treats.
I am one of those health-conscious guys who is a little picky about what I put into my body, so I was pleased to find quality products that were well thought through rather than just cheap filler items for the sake of a fuller box.
The Torres Black Truffle Chips barely made it out of the hamper. I keep chips as an occasional treat so I’m always keen to try some that use quality ingredients — they were dangerously good. Crunchy, rich and exactly the sort of snack that turns “just one more” into an empty packet.

As for sweet treats, I don’t get along with sugar, so I was also keen to try the ‘No added sugar’ Federation Dark Chocolate Cinnamon and Chilli from Tasmania, so I treated myself with my afternoon coffee and yep, delicious. Just how I like it, dark and spicy.
The beer made it to our coffee table after a long week, and the Bruny Island Farm Ale was genuinely good and went beautifully with the cheese, crackers and Island Harvest quince. It made for an easy little grazing platter with a touch of occasion.
As for the sauerkraut, I’m a Dutch boy, so that won’t last long—it’s great with mash, by the way.
I haven't cracked open the Herbie’s Herbs and Harissa Paste yet, but I know these brands are good, and as someone who loves cooking with good-quality herbs and a little heat, I am looking forward to using them. As for the Copperpot Lime and Pepperberry Almonds, they're on the counter for our next date night on the couch. Romance, but make it crunchy.
This is a thoughtful and quality hamper for a special occasion, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or a “just because” surprise for yourself. It feels generous, considered and personal.

“The Torres Black Truffle Chips and Tasmanian chocolate barely made it out of the hamper.”
