Chilling new Aussie horror film plays one-night

The film has been called 'the year's best Australian horror' and 'one of the best Australian debut features', receiving high praise from critics including two 5-star reviews.

It follows Tobin Wade, an ambitious young star whose deepest, most subconscious fears crawl to the surface when he is forced to isolate in a hotel room before his father’s funeral, and is forced to confront whoever - or whatever - is trapped in the hotel room with him.

In The Room Where He Waits has a limited release in Canberra with an upcoming screenings at Dendy Canberra on Sunday 7th July at 4:00pm, followed by a virtual Q&A with the film’s writer/director Timothy Despina Marshall and lead actor Daniel Monks.

The film recently had its world premiere at Mardi Gras Film Festival 2024, where it was one of Variety’s Top 5 Picks for the Festival.

The tormented lead Tobin is played by rising star Daniel Monks, who also appeared in indie horror Sissy, Aussie-made comedy Ricky Stanicky, and will next be seen in Netflix’s Kaos alongside Jeff Goldblum.

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Marshall’s startlingly assured, psychologically unmooring spinechiller makes full use of Monk’s considerable talents"
