Flickerfest Australia comes to Canberra

Flickerfest, Australia's leading short Film Festival, is back for one big night of cinema magic and some fabulous 🏳️‍🌈 short films at Palace Electric.

Catch two stunning Queer stories in our special screening of Best Of Flickerfest Canberra, featuring 9 award-winning shorts shining on the big screen, Thursday 16h May at Palace Electric Cinema!

The line up includes the award-winning drama based on true events, ‘Cold Water’, winner of Best screenplay at Flickerfest 2024, that sensitively explores one man's resurfaced memories of St Kilda in the 70’s, where police violence towards the LBTQIA  community was widespread, from talented filmmakers Jay and Shaun Perry and starring the legendary Bruce Spence in a poignant performance.

Second up is  the winner of Best European Union Rainbow Short at Flickerfest 2024, German film ‘Slow Down the Fall’ where the reunion of two Olympic ski jumping champions see’s their romantic past resurface as they facedown the demands of their sponsors, from directors Camille Tricaud and Franziska Unger.

Come along and enjoy a welcome drink from 6:30pm before the film's screen at 7:00pm. Ticket includes a Gage Roads beer, Rosnay organic wine, Four Pillars Gin or Saba juice upon entry to cinema. Meet the filmmakers, who will be present to introduce their films.
