The tap water is making you gay!

US: In bizarre news, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and a possible US presidential candidate has appointed a homophobic religious zealot who thinks tap water will turn you gay.

According to CNN’s KFile, Ron Peri, a former pastor from Orlando, called LGBTQ people a form of “evil” that needed to be constrained by society. He believes that the number of gay men was increasing because of high estrogen levels in tap water. 

But baseless conspiracies about gay-inducing tap water are just the beginning of Peri’s anti-LGBTQ rhetoric. The former pastor called LGBTQ people “deviant” and accused them of not having a “stake in the future.” Peri also accused queer people of being an “evil” that had been allowed to flourish because society had removed constraints against them. 

By appointing hard right loyalists and anti-LGBTQ+ religious zealots, DeSantis is signalling that he plans on his warpath of dismantling LGBTIQ rights.
