Netflix has given fans a early 2023 gift and has shared with a never-before-seen clip from Heartstopper season one to celebrate the new year. In March 2022, LGBTQ+ TV enthusiasts were finally treated to the eight-episode young adult series based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novel of the same name.

The show follows Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), a “high-strung, openly gay over-thinker,” and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), “a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player”, as they explore their blossoming romantic relationship and the pressures of coming out.

At the start of the clip, we see Isaac and Charlie sleeping before the camera pans to Elle and Tao, laughing at the latter’s phone while watching a video.  As the two get ready to sleep, Elle admits that she misses him, to which he responds, “I miss you too.”  “It’s just me and Isaac most lunchtimes now. I don’t want to be alone,” he adds.  After Elle reassures Tao that he isn’t alone, she leans in to embrace him before a flurry of animated sparks flies around the screen.
